What is a duology?

Simply put, a duology is a book series that only has two books.

What makes a duology different?

In contrast with a trilogy (tri meaning three), the duo in duology means two.

Trilogies (series of three books) are very famous. Famous examples include The Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, and Shadow and Bone.

For one more definition, a quartet is a series of four books. One example we love is The Giver quartet.
